Who is Emmanuela Okon?
The leader behind E’s Element, Emmanuela Okon, is a Digital Creator and Style Blogger who expressed her interest in fashion from a young age. She started her journey via Instagram in 2016 before expanding her activities by creating a blog titled StylebyEmmanuela and publishing digital books StylebyEmmanuela Ebooks. After diving into the fashion industry and graduating from the Communication, Culture, Information, and Technology (CCIT) program at the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2020, E’s Element CEO, Emmanuela Okon, landed a job with Shopify, where she learned about e-commerce and then decided to take a leap toward establishing her personal business. Later at the beginning of 2021, Emmanuela Okon pursued her passion by launching E’s Element amid the Covid-19 pandemic, explaining, “I created E’s Element because I wanted to give people easy and quick access to quality jewelry and athleisurewear pieces. For the most part, my inspiration to start my business came from wanting to curate quality jewelry and athleisurewear pieces that people can use to elevate their style daily (even while at home).”
Emmanuela Okon carries racial and gender equality at heart as she navigates through her challenges, stating, “I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by a very supportive Instagram community which has dramatically impacted the traction E’s Element has gained—especially as a small [Black and female] owned business in Canada.” She also believes in the power of networking with fellow businesswomen, including Boss Ladies TO, HER Pop Up, and Trending Table Market events. “I love being creative every day. My business ventures give me the opportunity to express my creativity on social media as well as help educate my audience online,” Emmanuela Okon.
